Mohamed Taha Mustafa was born January 15th 1951 in Sana'a, Yemen. He graduated from Cairo University in 1979 having studied for his BA in Political Science there, and gained a Diploma in Media at the George Washington University in 1984. He is married and has one daughter and three sons.
He joined the Ministry of Foreign affairs in 1979 and was a member of the Political Department from 1979-1981 (Third secretary).
He served as the Information Officer thereafter at the Embassy of Yemen in Washington D.C. from 1981-1985 (Second Secretary), continuing on as the Secretary to the Deputy P.M. and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1985-1988 (First Secretary).
He returned to the United States as Political & Information Officer and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Yemen in Washington D.C. from 1988-1993 (Counsellor).
He became the Deputy Director of The Ministers Bureau from 1993-1994 and once again took up the post of Secretary to the Deputy P.M. and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1994-1998 (Minister Plenipotentiary).
He served as the Ambassador of Yemen to Malaysia from 1998-2003 and then as Chief of Protocol 2003-2005.
November 2005 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Yemen to the court of St. James's.
